From mid January to mid February 2024 I shall be taking a break to travel and re-energise. During this time the shop and studio will be closed and nothing will be shipped until I return to work on 22nd February.
I’m sure to find lots of inspiration on my travels and plan on doing lots of drawing and designing, with the aim to develop new textile designs and products, so watch this space…
I'm excited to be back at Handmade Chelsea next week, exhibiting and selling my knitwear! The contemporary craft and design fair curated by Handmade in Britain is held in the beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall on London's Kings Road.
The show will feature artists & designers working in varied disciplines and creating truly unique products. You'll find textiles, fashion and homewares, jewellery, glassware and ceramics, woodwork, printing, artworks and more!
It's a fantastic show to kick-start your Christmas shopping as there is something for everyone and for all budgets too.

I’m so excited to be exhibiting and selling at Handmade Chelsea next week!
The covid pandemic that reared its ugly head at the beginning of last year threw the whole world into dissaray and rearranged all of our lives. A mainstay of my business and indeed my life over the last ten years of running CHELACHE has been the craft shows, fairs and markets, where I have met the loveliest people; both fellow designer makers and of course my customers! All such shows in 2020 were, of course, cancelled and so I haven’t exhibited at one for two whole years!

The Contemporary Craft & Design Fair in Chelsea has always been a real highlight of the craft lovers calendar, collecting together some of the best artisans and craftspeople from a wide variety of disciplines including, but not limited to ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass, wood, furniture and fashion.

Today I’m making a few suggestions for stocking fillers. Whether we’re able to meet up in person or not this Christmas, these would all be welcome gifts and, being small are supremely postable!
I’ve bought things from each and every one of them in the past and can vouch for their quality, beauty and usefullness! Well, the only one I didn’t buy is the CHELACHE knitted head / hair / neck band which is one of my own products, but I do wear it all the time and it’s very useful to keep your ears warm or your hair off your face!

Today I’m focussing on ceramics, which is a bit of an obsession of mine. I don’t think I’ve ever come away from a fair that I’ve exhibited at without at least one gorgeous piece by one of the ceramicists. Actually I might have made a couple of little purchases in the process of writing this (treating myself - my birthday’s tomorrow is my excuse!)! I told you I was obsessed!
